Footlights School Productions
If you are looking for a great annual fund raiser for your school or organization, or an event to involve the more creative sector of you community, then consider doing a school musical. It will guarantee an audience as family and friends of the performers are bound to attend, and it is a fantastic way for a school community to work together.
Children who have the opportunity to participate grow in self esteem and confidence, and learn valuable lessons in commitment and support toward others. There are many characters with different levels of participation so even the shyest student may participate.
All plays are specifically written for upper primary levels and contain a moral without being 'preachy'. They are fun and fast moving and contain many one liners to keep even the adults entertained.
Casts are quite large but may be reduced according to the size of the school. If you don't have a choir, the Sing Book music comes with instrumental and singing CDs.
I have aimed for as few scene changes as possible to help the performance flow more easily.
Most of the music is available through the Sing Book series, with suggestions for alternatives where necessary.
