Made In Japan
Duration 1 hour. Medium to large cast, dance troupes and choir.
Synopsis
The city of Twang is beautiful and peaceful. That is until the rubber band factory has an explosion causing an over production of rubber bands, and balloons. If only the green tea ladies hadn't filled the urn so full! The Emperor is not impressed and announces a competition for the best musical instrument made of these items. First prize is beautiful Princess Sushi's hand in marriage. She is a modern sort of girl and is not happy. Too late! The posters have been printed.
Kind and honest Toyota intends to win the competition, but dishonest buddies, Fiji and Kodak are out to cheat at all costs with their band of kung-fu side-kicks.
Princess Sushi and her maidens definitely do not want the cheaters to win! Fortunately, Aunty Edna comes to the rescue with her pal, Lee (He's the boy from the bush) and they decide the winner of the competition. Performances by Man-do lin, and gui-tar make the competition really interesting for Lee, and all seems resolved. That is until the explosion in the lollipop factory!
A narrator keeps the momentum flowing. Both modern and traditional music from the Sing book range and Enya.

Testimonials
A wonderful musical full of fantastic songs, colourful characters and witty lines.
Performed by 100 children from grades 3 to 6 to captive audiences. over 3 nights. The story line and dialogue was ideally suited to primary school children and the variety of characters and songs enabled some great costumes and dance routines. The musical enabled children to explore another culture and presented a wonderful tale with a message for all.
