Play-Specific

What would you do if a chook turned blue?

  • Children wearing the chook look best dressed in black as do the handlers.
  • Allow the children plenty of time for rehearsal so that they are able to explore their movements.
  • The orchestra could be other children in the class using a variety of percussion instruments, possibly made by themselves.
  • All children should be specially dressed for the performance. They will perform better if in costume.
  • Chorus could hold up coloured cards each time they introduce a new chook of a specific group could be dressed in each colour.
  • Make props out of cardboard with hand grips for portability.
  • A cardboard fence taped to a table is a good prop for the chooks to move along and allows for easy visibility.
